PERITONEAL CANCER
What is peritoneal cancer?
Peritoneal cancer affects the peritoneum, the lining of the interior wall of the abdomen which helps organs move smoothly inside the abdomenal cavity. The symptoms of peritoneal cancer include:
- Abdominal discomfort such as gas, indigestion, pressure, cramps etc.
- Nausea, diarrhea, constipation
- Loss of appetite
Peritoneal cancer can caused by occupational asbestos exposure. It is one of several types of mesothelioma. Workers in certain industrial trades were susceptible to asbestos exposure for decades, until the government stepped in and enacted worker health safety laws in the 1980s. Retired workers, however, are still susceptible to developing mesothelioma because the disease has a long latency period.
If you have been diagnosed with peritoneal mesothelioma, you may be entitled to financial compensation from a mesothelioma lawsuit.
