Pesticide Breaking News: New York City -
Parts Of Queens To Be Sprayed For West Nile Virus

August 16th, 2005 (ny1.com)

Trucks will be spraying pesticides in Queens on Wednesday, as city health officials continue their fight against the West Nile Virus.

Weather permitting, the spraying will begin at 8 p.m. tonight. Trucks will make their way through Queensboro Hill, Murray Hill, Pomonok, Kew Gardens Hills, and Kissena Park, including its golf course.

Officials say residents should avoid direct exposure to the pesticides being sprayed. People with asthma or other respiratory illnesses are advised to stay inside during the spraying.
