New York Cable Installer Falls Ill With Pleural Plaques From Asbestos Exposure.

In recent news about the dangers of asbestos exposure a woman's father who installed cables in New York, was diagnosed with pleural plaques after a routine check-up revealed scarring on his lungs.

The former cable installer also worked at a power station in the Bronx during the 60s, where he described the asbestos dust falling like snow all around them.

The father-of-six now has to live with the knowledge he could develop cancer.

His daughter reportedly told a local New York newspaper, “I love my dad, and it was heart-breaking when I found out he had pleural plaques. I was absolutely devastated.”

She added: “I’ve met so many people in New York City who have pleural plaques. It’s ridiculous they don’t get compensation.
