Bolthouse Farms Voluntarily Recalls Carrot Juice as Precaution

FDA ALERT: Bolthouse Farms Recalls Product--After two incidences of temperature abused 100% Carrot Juice, Wm. Bolthouse Farms of Bakersfield, CA is voluntarily recalling the product, according to the a press release by the Food and Drug Administration.

The recall is a precautionary measure: carrot juice, if left unrefrigerated, can cause the life-threatening illness botulism.

The proper refrigeration temperature for carrot juice is 45 degrees Fahrenheit or below.

To date, four people have become ill after drinking bottles of the juice, which were likely not refrigerated properly. The incidents were reported in Florida and Georgia.
