Seroquel and ADHD
Please note: Weitz & Luxenberg is providing information about Seroquel and a number of physical and mental health-related side effects such as ADHD that have been linked to the use of the drug. However, our lawyers are only considering cases in which a child, teen or young adult under the age of 25 was prescribed Seroquel and later developed Type 2 diabetes.
Seroquel is not typically prescribed for ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder).
Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a psychiatric diagnosis that identifies characteristics such as hyperactivity, forgetfulness, mood shifts, poor impulse control, and distractibility, when judged to be chronic, as symptoms of a neurological pathology.
While Seroquel has the sedation effect commonly found in ADHD drugs such as Ritalin or Prozac, it is usually prescribed for treatment of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
