Children and Adolescents Diagnosed with Diabetes After Taking Seroquel. Legal Help is Available from a Weitz & Luxenberg Seroquel Attorney

Our law firm's Seroquel attorneys are currently investigating cases of children and adolescents who developed diabetes after being treated for behavioral and other disorders with Seroquel. The use of the drug in children and teens has been linked to serious and even life-threatening Seroquel-related diabetic side effects.

Please note: While Weitz & Luxenberg is providing information about Seroquel and a number of physical and mental health-related side effects that may have been linked to the use of Seroquel, the firm is only considering cases in which a child, teen or adult under the age of 25 was prescribed Seroquel and developed diabetes or other life-threatening illness.

Since the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) first approved the prescription drug Seroquel to treat a number of psychiatric disorders, the drug has been prescribed to countless children and adolescents diagnosed with behavioral, emotional or mental health conditions.

Tragically, investigations into the drug have shown that adolescent Seroquel patient have significant risk for serious side effects, including the development of sudden onset diabetes.

Diabetic Side Effects
Once diagnosed, these children face a lifetime of treatment for their disease. Depending on the severity of their diabetes, they will need to take oral diabetes medications every day. For children and teens determined to be insulin-dependent, they (and their families) will require training in order to take daily blood glucose testing samples and also learn how to administer insulin injections.

As adults, these children will also face increased risks for a number of serious health disorders, including heart problems, pancreatitis and vison problems.
