Seroquel & Pregnancy: Drug Not Intended for Use by Pregnant Women
Please note: Weitz & Luxenberg is providing information about Seroquel and a number of physical and mental health-related side effects, including risks to women during pregnancy, that may have been linked to the use of Seroquel. Howeveer, the firm is only considering cases in which a child or adolescent was prescribed Seroquel and developed diabetes.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), it is not known whether Seroquel will harm an unborn baby.
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women and quetiapine should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
Treatment with Seroquel is intended for adults 18 years of age or older who are not pregnant and are not thinking of becoming pregnant.
Seroquel patients should be advised to notify their physician if they become pregnant or intend to become pregnant during therapy.
Medical questions should only be answered by a doctor or other health care professional.
