Seroquel & OCD (Obsessive-compulsive disorder)

Seroquel is prescribed "off-label" as a treatment for OCD.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a psychiatric disorder, specifically, an anxiety disorder.

OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

Seroquel is sometimes prescribed to treat OCD because of the sedation effect it has on it's users.

The sedation effect can leave the patient sleepy, which combats their obsessive thoughts.

The NUMBERS
