Learn more about the dangers of asbestos exposure and decide if you should be tested. Read each of the following points for the most common characteristics of those who may be at risk for asbestos exposure:
- People with breathing problems
- Those with protracted exposure to asbestos
- Those who think they have had extended exposure to asbestos
- Immediate family members of individuals who have worked in asbestos-related vocations, even if the person who worked with asbestos has no evident exposure signs or difficulty breathing
It is vital that the usual mode of testing is an x-ray (side and front view of your chest.) Further tests may include a pulmonary function test, blood work, a CT scan and/or biopsy.
