Small cell lung cancer: What is it?

Small cell lung cancer is a form of lung cancer that grows rapidly. It spreads significantly more rapidly than non-small lung cancer. The three types of small cell lung cancer are: small cell carcinoma (also known as oat cell cancer), mixed small cell/ large cell carcinoma and combined small cell carcinoma. Small cell carcinoma is the most common type of small cell lung cancer.
