Was your Toyota one of the models in the recall? Our attorneys are reviewing cases involving injury.
Several Toyota models are the subject of a recall and related legal action. At least 30 lawsuits have been filed against auto giant Toyota on behalf of people in the U.S. and Canada seeking monetary damages from loss of cars’ value to a return of profits, reported Bloomberg News on Feb. 5, 2010.
The lawsuits are class-action, and demand compensation for defects such as those revealed in Toyota’s recalls over sudden acceleration of its vehicles.
Bloomberg said the number of lawsuits has grown dramatically.
Toyota also faces at least 10 lawsuits brought by individuals claiming deaths or injuries caused by uncontrollable acceleration of vehicles.
The lawsuits were sparked by several recalls by Toyota and its Jan. 26 decision to stop U.S. production and sales of eight models to fix defective accelerator pedals.
The models in the recall include: 2007 - 2010 Camry, 2005 - 2010 Avalon, 2004 - 2009 Prius, 2005 - 2010 Tacoma, 2007 - 2010 Tundra, 2008 - 2010 Highlander, 2009 - 2010 Corolla, 2009 - 2010 Venza, 2009 - 2010 Matrix, Lexus 2006 - 2010 IS 250, 2006 - 2010 IS 350, 2007 - 2010 ES 350, Certain 2009-2010 RAV4, Certain 2009-2010 Corolla, 2009-2010 Matrix, 2005-2010 Avalon, Certain 2007-2010 Camry, Certain 2010 Highlander, 2007-2010 Tundra, and 2008-2010 Sequoia.
