Toyota Prius Hybrid Recall: Our lawyers are currently speaking with families affected by defective Toyotas

Toyota will recall about 300,000 Prius hybrid cars internationally due to a brake problem, the Associated Press reported on Feb 8, 2010. Our lawyers have begun investigating incidences of accidents and injury from models listed in the various Toyota recalls.

The recall of the gas-electric Prius will reportedly include vehicles that went on sale since May last year through January, the AP said.

To date, around 100 drivers of Prius cars in America have complained to the government that their antilock brakes seemed to fail momentarily while driving on bumpy roads.

Toyota says the brakes will work if the driver keeps pushing the pedal.

Toyota has already recalled more than 7 million other cars for repairs in the U.S. and other countries over a sticky accelerator and floor mats that can get caught in the gas pedal.

Below is a list of the other recalled models:

Toyota Recall: Mats
Reportedly, this recall will affect the following Toyota models:

  • 2007 - 2010 Camry
  • 2005 - 2010 Avalon
  • 2004 - 2009 Prius
  • 2005 - 2010 Tacoma
  • 2007 - 2010 Tundra
  • 2008 - 2010 Highlander
  • 2009 - 2010 Corolla
  • 2009 - 2010 Venza
  • 2009 - 2010 Matrix

    Lexus

  • 2006 - 2010 IS 250
  • 2006 - 2010 IS 350
  • 2007 - 2010 ES 350

Toyota is urging that owners of these vehicles take out the floor mats on the driver's side and not replace them.

    Toyota recall: Defective Pedals

In yet another Toyota recall, on January 21, 2010, Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) and the NTSA announced additional recalls of approximately 2.3 million vehicles due to accelerator pedal defects.

The models affected in this recall are:

  • Certain 2009-2010 RAV4
  • Certain 2009-2010 Corolla
  • 2009-2010 Matrix
  • 2005-2010 Avalon
  • Certain 2007-2010 Camry
  • Certain 2010 Highlander
  • 2007-2010 Tundra
  • 2008-2010 Sequoia
