Toyota Motor Company has temporarily stopped selling and building eight models for the American market, including its Camry and Corolla sedans. This was prompted by the discovery of a serious defect with accelerator pedals that can stick, according to the New York Times on January 27, 2010.
This recall comes less than a week after Toyota announced a recall of 2.3 million vehicles due to the incidence of the pedal sticking and causing a vehicle to speed up unintentionally. This defect has already spawned lawsuits. Our attorneys are now speaking with families whose loved ones sustained injuries after driving in a Toyota on the recall list.

Toyota has stopped selling the Camry, Corolla and Avalon sedans, Matrix wagon, RAV4 crossover, Tundra pickup, and Highlander and Sequoia sport-utility vehicles.
But the automaker and federal safety officials continued to receive reports of unintended acceleration and stuck pedals even in cases where the floor mats had been removed, a stopgap measure recommended by Toyota.
