Reuters is reporting that Bayer's Trasylol drug, withdrawn from the market in November, has a 53 percent higher risk of death compared to other drugs used to reduce bleeding in high-risk heart surgery, according to long-awaited study published on May 13, 2008.
A commentary accompanying the study, released online by the New England Journal of Medicine, said the drug was unlikely to be returned to the market.
