A carpenter in the United Kingdom suffering from mesothelioma, the asbestos-related disease, has won a record asbestos settlement--the equivalent of $506,998.71 US currency--according to Field Fisher Waterhouse, the law firm for Amargeet Singh Dahele.
According to the website injurywatch.co.uk, Dahele claimed to be regularly exposed to asbestos dust and fibers while working on three tower blocks in Stratford, east London, causing his mesothelioma.
His former employer reportedly admitted liability and agreed to pay toward the cost of chemotherapy treatment, nursing care and equipment.
