Yaz generic "Ocella" may cause serious side effects, including stroke and heart attack
The generic for Yaz, Ocella, is prescribed to prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary) and also cause changes in the cervical and uterine lining, making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus.
Ocella is a combination of drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol, which is used as contraception to prevent pregnancy.
Unfortunately, as with Yaz and Yasmin, numerous women have taken Ocella and experienced life-threatening side effects.
Side effects attributed to Yaz, Ocella and Yasmin are:
In addition, two studies on Danish and Dutch women, published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) in August 2009, found a higher risk of venous blood clots for women taking newer progestins, including drospirenone, which is found in Ocella.
If you have experienced serious side effects after taking Yaz, Ocella or Yasmin, you may be entitled to file a lawsuit against the manufacturer.
A lawyer with experience in birth control litigation can help evaluate your claim.
Many women around the country have suffered from life-threatening pulmonary embolisms related to Ocella but are unaware they have a right to seek monetary compensation by filing a claim against the manufacturer.
