Yazmin, Yaz and Ocella lawsuits rise as women come forward with serious side effects
Numerous Yazmin (Yasmin), Yaz and Ocella lawsuits have been filed alleging the manufacturers of those birth control pills knew of the serious health risks associated with the hormone drospirenone (or "drsp") contained in all three, and failed to adequately warn the public about these risks.
These lawsuits allege that women who take Yaz, Yazmin or Ocella birth control are at a greater risk of developing severe health problems, including blood clots, strokes, pulmonary embolism, and other severe health complications than with other oral birth control products.
To date, the Food and Drug Administration has issued three warning letters to the drug manufacturers for false and misleading television advertisements about Yazmin and Yaz.
The FDA found that several Yazmin and Yaz advertisements minimized the health risks associated with these medications, and also promoted them for the treatment of conditions that the FDA had not approved.
If you have experienced serious side effects after taking Yaz, Ocella or Yasmin, you may be entitled to file a lawsuit against the manufacturer.
A lawyer with experience in birth control litigation can help evaluate your claim.
