Biography

Curtis Franklin is our military client liaison dedicated to assisting our clients who graciously served our country in the United States military. Curtis resides in Florida, and assists our veteran clients throughout the United States.

Curtis served in the United States Navy as a machinist mate for over two decades. While in the United States Navy, Curtis was stationed in propulsion plants aboard navy ships, and earned the rank Master Chief Petty Officer. Curtis retired from the United States Navy in 2010, and then worked in the construction management and processes field.

Curtis aims to get to know every prospective client on both a professional and personal level by listening, and learning the specific details that pertain to each individual. Curtis’s key role is to assist our prospective clients in determining the nature of their asbestos exposure. His investigation then serves as the framework for initiating an asbestos exposure lawsuit.

When investigating a potential asbestos exposure case, Curtis commences his investigation using the skills he developed in the United States Navy, and in the construction field. His investigation begins with connecting to a prospective client through an initial intake phone call where he reviews all potential avenues of asbestos exposure, introduces the prospective client to Weitz & Luxenberg, and explains the firm’s long history of successfully prosecuting asbestos exposure cases for other military veterans.

As Curtis walks a new client step-by-step through the legal process, he makes a real effort to learn the heart of the matter. Curtis strives to help our clients understand their legal rights, and how Weitz & Luxenberg can help them better understand this complex asbestos exposure litigation.

He explains our firm’s history of success for clients in similar situations — as most of our clients have been seriously harmed just by doing their jobs — and how Weitz & Luxenberg believes they deserve to be compensated for their pain and suffering. Curtis goes into detail on how success comes about from a combination of having attorneys with related experience, and a law firm with the necessary resources to fight the legal battle.

After obtaining the necessary information, Curtis spends time meeting with every prospective client either in-person at their home, or virtually, depending on the client’s request. When talking further with our prospective client and their families, Curtis develops a good idea of who on Weitz & Luxenberg’s team of experienced asbestos attorneys can best serve their specific legal needs. He then makes the match between client and attorney, setting up the next step in a client’s lawsuit.

Mr. Franklin is a retired veteran stationed near Tampa, Florida. He is happily married to his wife, Jennifer, and has two sons — and one is currently serving in the military.
