To remember the forgotten and be a voice for the voiceless.
Michael T. Reid has joined Weitz & Luxenberg’s committed and knowledgeable West Coast Mesothelioma and Asbestos Practice Group litigation unit. Previously a dedicated, hard-working law clerk for the firm, Mr. Reid is now an official member of Weitz & Luxenberg’s mesothelioma and asbestos attorney team.
“It’s amazing what some companies will do and say to get out of taking responsibility for knowingly, willfully, and recklessly exposing people to asbestos. At Weitz & Luxenberg, our challenge is to connect the dots, find out what these companies have been trying to cover up, and then get them to own up to their actions,” he stated.
“I’m thankful for working with colleagues who share my desire for justice,” Mr. Reid added.
Like his colleagues at Weitz & Luxenberg, Mr. Reid recognizes that companies sometimes put profits over people — endangering lives without blinking an eye.
He pointed out, “Some companies knew the dangers of asbestos exposure; but willfully and wantonly chose to put people at risk. They chose profits over people. They abused their responsibility to the general public. It’s my job to bring them to justice; to vindicate the rights my clients; and to deter any company from making a similar horrific decision.”
This sense of justice drives the Weitz & Luxenberg mesothelioma and asbestos attorneys. For over 30 years, we have committed ourselves to helping people harmed by asbestos exposure.
As a first-generation college student, one of Mr. Reid’s greatest passions is advising and mentoring young people. Mr. Reid coaches the undergraduate Mock Trial Team at Pepperdine University, which he previously founded as an undergraduate student. Additionally, he is an active mentor for high school, college, and law students.
Mr. Reid explained, “I didn’t have family support to help me through college, but I was fortunate to have mentors who believed in me. It’s my turn to pay it forward, and I rejoice seeing them achieve their dreams.”
Michael T. Reid is licensed to practice law in California.
