When cars are unsafe, and the manufacturers know it, they have a responsibility to get them fixed. If the manufacturers don’t, they need to be held accountable.
Chrysler has been aware of a defect in the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) in many of their vehicles for years. However, they still have not issued a voluntary recall for it.
Owners have spent thousands of dollars to repair this defect, but Chrysler has not reimbursed them.
Many owners are rightly furious that they have had their lives put at risk. There have been allegations that 20 deaths have already occurred due to this serious defect.
Car Becomes Uncontrollable When TIPM Fails
The TIPM affects all the power in your vehicle. This means that it controls the computer and everything electrical connected to it.
A major issue with this defective TIPM is not being able to start the car and get on the road at all. This is definitely an inconvenience at best. At worst it could be life threatening if you are trying to rush to the hospital for a medical emergency.

Get a Free Case ReviewOne of the biggest risks is if the car suddenly shuts off and stops working. There have been cases reported of this problem happening as the car is driving on the highway.
You lose control of the power steering and power brakes, which affects how and if you can control the vehicle. Anytime you have a loss of vehicle control, you have a greater chance of having an accident.
The defect also can affect how the airbags function. If that accident does happen, they may not provide you with the protection you were guaranteed.
And once your vehicle shuts off, you can be stranded anywhere and for any amount of time.
A defective TIPM can also make your vehicle unexpectedly accelerate if the fuel pump fails. And accelerating under the wrong circumstances is another common cause of accidents.
In other cases, the owners describe their cars as if they were “possessed.” Windshield wipers suddenly turn on, the horn is blaring and lights are flashing. This can be a distraction if you are stopped and even more dangerous if you are moving at highway speeds.

Filing a Class Action Suit
It’s possible that millions of car owners and passengers have been subjected to the risk of having an accident or being injured. At the very least, Chrysler owners have been extremely inconvenienced.
We suspect that many people have been injured in accidents. And there are reports of family members dying due to this faulty TIPM malfunctioning. You should be compensated for the danger that Chrysler exposed you to when they let these defective vehicles stay on the road.
