Neidra Wilson and Alexandra Shef, two of W&L’s dedicated attorneys handling mesothelioma and asbestos cases, were recently honored for their excellence in the courtroom, professionalism, and commitment to obtaining justice for their clients.
Ms. Wilson was recognized as a Distinguished Lawyer by Noticed, an invitation-only service which honors top-rated professionals in the medical, legal, financial services, and real estate fields, and Ms. Shef was named one of the “10 Best Personal Injury Attorneys” in California by the American Institute of Legal Counsel.
“Neidra and Alexandra embody the commitment and passion that define Weitz & Luxenberg, and we are proud to see them recognized for their valuable work seeking justice for those dealing with the devastating impact of asbestos exposure,” said Perry Weitz, co-founder of Weitz & Luxenberg. “
Ms. Wilson joined the firm’s Cherry Hill, New Jersey office in 2012, focusing on asbestos litigation — in particular, lung cancer and mesothelioma cases. Her practice area is very personal to her because her stepfather passed away from lung cancer following asbestos exposure.
One of the toughest parts of her job is seeing the suffering of her clients, and Ms. Wilson says she draws inspiration from their strength and resilience. “You can’t forget the personal side,” she said. “It’s so important to hear each client’s story.” It is this understanding and compassion that help set her apart as an attorney.
Recently, Ms. Wilson has focused her casework on clients that have been impacted by asbestos contamination in talcum powder products, which she said is a growing area of asbestos litigation.
She is also member of the New Jersey Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice.
Ms. Shef has been a valued member of W&L’s Los Angeles team since 2015. At the firm, she has built a strong record representing clients with malignant mesothelioma and asbestos-related cancers. She has extensive experience with asbestos litigation and has fought for more than a decade to help those harmed by asbestos.
Super Lawyers magazine has recognized her as one of its “Rising Stars” multiple times, including the last four years. She has also been named on its “Top 100 Up-and-Coming Attorneys of Southern California” and “Top 50 Up-and-Coming Women Attorneys in Southern California” lists.
