Biography

My decision to become an attorney stems from my experience growing up with my dad. He is an attorney. Watching him engage in such important work inspired me to devote my own career to making a difference in other people’s lives.”

Lauren S. Linsenbach is a member of Weitz & Luxenberg’s Mesothelioma and Asbestos litigation team. We are delighted she joined our team of attorneys who all have dedicated themselves to the highly complex practice area of asbestos exposure litigation.

Ms. Linsenbach feels privileged to work among like-minded attorneys who make it their mission to bring about a just and fair resolution for our clients. She — and the other attorneys on our team — all work for clients injured through the ruthless and negligent actions of companies that refused to safeguard their health and well-being.

Honing Her Asbestos Litigation Skills

After graduating with her J.D., Ms. Linsenbach wasted no time in honing her litigation skills. Right off the bat, she conducted client depositions and argued motions on behalf of clients injured by large corporations.

She familiarized herself with every phase of litigation. Conducting client and witness depositions prepared her for the very work she would be doing at Weitz & Luxenberg. She also represented workers injured from asbestos at various stages of litigation, including trial.

Due to her shrewd negotiation and litigation skills, Ms. Linsenbach was given responsibility for negotiating settlements and overseeing a busy branch office responsible for thousands of asbestos cases. In recognition of her dedication and impressive results in asbestos litigation, Harrisburg Magazine named her as one of the Top Women Litigators to Watch in 2019. In 2023, Ms. Linsenbach brought her impressive litigation skills to Weitz & Luxenberg, where she continues to fight for workers injured by exposure to asbestos.

When it comes to asbestos litigation, Weitz & Luxenberg’s work with clients is number one. Ms. Linsenbach not only developed litigation strategies — she developed strong, lasting relationships with her clients.

Making sure she was available to her clients, and providing personal and professional legal advice, is how Ms. Linsenbach ensures her ties to her clients remain strong.

I Want to Tell My Client’s Story

“It’s what drives all of us — our clients.” Ms. Linsenbach states.

“When I meet with a client for the first time, I emphasize to them that I want to tell their personal story. That I want to let people know what happened to them,” Ms. Linsenbach declares.

“I have a genuine interest in every person’s story, and it’s my job to tell the stories of the workers and their families. They have been permanently harmed by asbestos companies. Our clients are up against some of the largest corporations in the world. The work we’re doing to hold those corporations accountable makes a very big difference for our clients and their families,” insists Ms. Linsenbach.

W&L Never Gives Up on Our Clients

“Sometimes asbestos cases take years,” Ms. Linsenbach adds. “Defendants often try every trick in the book to get out of being held accountable. Postponing cases. Trying to get them dismissed. Wanting to pass the blame on to others.”

“But we never give up. And one of the greatest feelings is calling our clients and telling them, ‘It’s done. And you will be getting the compensation you deserve,” Ms. Linsenbach emphasizes.

Asbestos Exposure May Pass Down Generations

Ms. Linsenbach points out some cases can even last for decades. “You may have heard about wives getting mesothelioma from laundering their husband’s clothes,” she says. “He works around asbestos and then brings all those fibers home.”

Sadly, there’s another way a person can pass on asbestos to their spouse and their children — the family car. Ms. Linsenbach tells the tale about a husband going to and from work in the family’s only car. He brings asbestos into the car every time he comes home.

“Our clients are often people who work blue-collar jobs. They can’t buy a new car every few years or own two or more cars. Their wives use the car to do grocery shopping. The families are exposed to asbestos when they go to church. They may keep the car going for years, and — all the while — family members are getting exposed to asbestos,” she explains.

“It’s so sad. The companies that didn’t safeguard our clients’ health are harming generations of families,” Ms. Linsenbach adds.

Ms. Linsenbach is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Courts of Middle and Eastern Pennsylvania. She earned her J.D. from Widener University Commonwealth Law School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Her Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice was awarded by Pennsylvania State University in Middletown, Pennsylvania. She also has an associate in arts and paralegal studies certificate from Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania.

On the Personal Side

Outside the office, Ms. Linsenbach is very close to her family. She is crazy busy enjoying spending time with her young child. She volunteers her time providing free tax and estate planning to first responders and military veterans. She also performs pro bono work as a monitor for Dauphin County’s Todd A. Hoover Guardian Monitor Program. In her free time, she loves rooting for the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
