WEITZ & LUXENBERG, P.C.
Verdicts and Settlements - Our history of success

When you or a family member has been hurt through no fault of your own, you need the help of an attorney skilled at winning verdicts and settlements -- an attorney like you'll find at Weitz & Luxenberg.

Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C.

Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C. is New York’s largest personal injury law firm. We represent accident victims and their family members in many states, including New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Weitz & Luxenberg’s attorneys have decades of experience defending victim’s rights and winning verdicts and settlements in practice areas that include: accidents/general injury, dangerous drugs, medical malpractice, and environmental pollutants.

Early verdicts and settlements

Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C. has been practicing mass tort litigation longer than any other firm in New York State, getting in at the forefront of asbestos litigation in the late 1980s. The firm’s Asbestos Litigation Unit has used its might and expertise to obtain billions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for those who have fallen ill or died from the ravages of asbestos exposure.

During these first years, the firm participated in an historic consolidated trial for asbestos victims who had worked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in the 1940s and 1950s. A Weitz & Luxenberg mesothelioma attorney represented 36 clients in that case and secured verdicts of $75 million. Since then, we have recovered hundreds of millions of dollars more.

Recent verdicts and settlements

In 2008, Weitz & Luxenberg achieved a $16.25 million verdict in an asbestos lawsuit that is believed to be the first successful asbestos verdict against a dental supply company. In 2007, Weitz & Luxenberg obtained a jury verdict of $37 million for two smokers with lung cancer who had been exposed to asbestos; the defendant was Robert A. Keasbey Co., a former insulation contractor and distributor of asbestos products.
