  • Hall of Fame gallery and presentation.
  • Private exhibition viewing.

Honoring Alumni Contributions

Hofstra Law created the Hall of Fame to honor alumni recognized for their exemplary careers, extraordinary service for the betterment of society, or exceptional contributions to the university’s law school. It is recognition for any or all of these having made an enduring and remarkable impact on Hofstra Law’s community and beyond. Each of Hofstra Law School’s Hall of Fame inductees was nominated by peers and chosen by a committee comprising Hofstra Law alumni, faculty, and administrators.

W&L is proud of our history and commitment to Hofstra Law. Our firm is ingrained into the fabric of New York and its preeminent educational institutions. The firm’s co-founder Perry Weitz and Arthur Luxenberg dedicated the moot court to Hofstra Law roughly 15 years ago. To have two of our team enshrined is a heartfelt honor.

Weitz Is on a Mission

Since graduating from law school, Perry Weitz makes it his mission to be a legal advocate for regular, everyday Americans who have nowhere else to turn. He begin his career blazing a trail to help victims of mesothelioma, with astonishing success. His efforts helped lay the foundation for the Weitz & Luxenberg law firm and it grows stronger with each passing year.

Since its beginnings, the firm has branched out to take on similar cases for people wronged or harmed by corporate negligence. Today, the firm represents victims of environmental disasters, communities facing chemical water contamination, patients suffering injury due to defective drugs and medical devices, and victims of medical malpractice, wrongful death, and negligence.

One of Mr. Weitz’s greatest accomplishments is knowing he helped thousands of clients harmed by irresponsible, sometimes unscrupulous companies that cared more about making money than safeguarding people’s lives.

Roberts Is Fighting the Good Fight

Michael P. Roberts has been with Weitz & Luxenberg for more than a quarter of a century. In his role as a senior trial attorney, he has helped hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people suffering from devastating diseases and debilitating personal injuries. In addition, he has set the standards for aspiring attorneys, teaching them how to be highly effective legal advocates who know how to try and win cases.

“I count among my greatest achievements helping secure big-win verdicts for our clients who have been diagnosed with deadly mesothelioma and asbestos lung cancer. These clients were severely injured in construction-related accidents, victims of horrific motor vehicle accidents, and irreparably harmed by defective products,” Mr. Roberts says. “To be honored by Hofstra University is a supreme privilege. I look forward to doing justice to this honor by continuing my efforts on behalf of our clients harmed by the injurious actions of others.”
